An Inexpensive Alternative to Beautiful Flooring

Concrete Polishers are an economical way of grinding concrete floor surfaces to achieve a glossy finish. This eliminates the need for floor waxes and coatings or expensive marble or granite flooring. Concrete Polishing Solutions result in the same mirror finish like that seen in marble or granite floors. It is a combination of polishing equipment and techniques that together leave the concrete floor shining like a spectacle. The polishing equipment mostly includes Industrial Grade Grinders, Dust Extractors, Propane Polishers etc. Before beginning the Polishing process, the concrete floor surface must be cleaned, repaired, and evaluated. You can choose between different diamond tooling and grinders to achieve the right finish. Concrete Polishing is like wood sanding. Concrete Polishing Machines are heavy duty equipment that have progressively finer grits of diamond-impregnated segments.

Process:
The Concrete Polishing process begins with coarse diamond segments that are bonded in a metallic matrix. The coarse diamond segments will remove minor pits, blemishes, stains, and light coatings to prepare the floor for the smoothening process. Next, diamond abrasives are embedded in a plastic or resin matrix which is used to fine grind the concrete surface. A process called Lapping is performed where fine grits of polishing disks are used to achieve the desired shine. Depending on the degree of gloss required, a finer or 1500 grit is used which will enhance the sheen and finish. An Internal impregnating sealer is then applied which will protect and harden the concrete.

Concrete Stripper:
A Concrete Polishing Process may include a Concrete Stripper which is essentially a product that can remove multiple coatings on concrete floors like Paint, Stain, Epoxies, and Sealers. The Stripper itself is easily washable with water. It has a concentrated liquid formula and is biodegradable. Concrete Stripper can also be mechanical. It includes a series of floor abrading techniques like Shot-Blasting, Sandblasting, Grinding, and Scarifying. Mechanical Stripping is aggressive and abusive to the Concrete floor. But, chemical stripping is environment-friendly and does not change the concrete floor. It is also more popular than Mechanical Stripping.
When a concrete floor is polished, it is left with a glossy finish. It can be designed per preference by adding colors, patterns, or embedding aggregates. The Concrete Polishing mechanism can be controlled to change the reflectivity of the floor. This is achieved by changing the level of Polishing. Most commercial buildings have polished concrete floors because they can be easily maintained. They only need to be dust mopped and a cleaning product need only be used occasionally.
